The LZ World Tour - Mondello Park

The LZ World Tour, spearheaded by popular automotive content creator Adam LZ, has quickly become one of the most anticipated events in the global drifting scene. Originating from Adam’s massive following on platforms like YouTube, TikTok and Instagram the tour combines high-energy drift competitions, car shows, and collaborations with international drift icons.

The 2024 LZ World Tour has expanded its reach, with stops in several countries, bringing together professional drivers, local drift talent, and fans. At each stop, competitors from around the world go head-to-head in intense drift battles, showcasing both individual skill and team coordination. Locations have included Australia, Canada, and several European countries, with each event offering unique local flair alongside the signature LZ style.

The Mondello Park stop of the 2024 LZ World Tour was a thrilling spectacle for drift enthusiasts, blending fierce competition with unique events. Headlining the podium was none other than James Deane, driving his iconic S14.9 and fresh from the Driftmasters series. In second place, Alan Hynes continued his winning streak fresh off his victory in the 2024 Irish Drift Championship. Conor Shanahan, the reigning Driftmasters champion, secured third place, rounding out a star-studded top three.

The LZ World Tour stop at Mondello Park wasn’t just about high-octane drifting—it also featured an expansive car show that drew enthusiasts from across Ireland and beyond. Among the hundreds of meticulously modified machines on display, one particular vehicle stole the spotlight: a rusted Chevrolet pickup truck powered by a BMW V8 engine going by the name The Bagged Chevy.

The unique "rusty look" wasn’t just for aesthetics—this Chevy was a textbook example of the rat rod style, blending a distressed, vintage exterior with a powerful, modern drivetrain. The BMW V8 engine tucked beneath the hood gave it a mix of old-school charm and cutting-edge performance. This blend of styles made the truck one of the most talked-about entries of the show, earning it a well-deserved win and plenty of attention from attendees and judges alike.

The car show was a diverse mix of pristine show cars, street machines, and modified builds, creating a perfect companion to the drifting spectacle happening on the track. From immaculate JDM icons to wild Euro builds, the variety kept spectators engaged and added a layer of automotive artistry to the event.

Among the notable names present were FitzFab, known for their high-quality fabrication and custom car builds, particularly in the drift and motorsport communities. Park n Chill Waterford, a community that has cultivated a strong following for their laid-back car meets, also had a prominent presence. They brought their signature vibe, offering attendees a taste of their car culture, which emphasizes both the aesthetics and camaraderie of the high end car scene.

Of course, Juicebox was there, a cornerstone of Irish car culture known for their deep roots in documenting and showcasing Ireland’s unique automotive builds and overall JDM community. Their stand attracted long-time fans and newcomers alike, celebrating everything from modified street cars to professional drift builds.

This combination of motorsport and show culture is one of the reasons the LZ World Tour continues to grow, attracting not just fans of drifting, but gearheads and custom car lovers from all corners of the automotive world

The event was more than just competition—it was a celebration of car culture and drift spectacle. A standout moment was the "Couples Therapy" segment, where couples like James Deane and Becky Evans took their "differences" to the track in a fun, lighthearted battle. Another fan-favorite was the team battle, which saw "Bus Full Of Nuns," a team of BMWs driifting through tyre smoke in a ballet of showmanship, take the top spot.

The event also attracted a host of VIPs, including well-known figures from the drifting community like Jimmy Oakes and Nightride. Off the track, the venue hosted a massive car show, featuring hundreds of pristine show-spec machines, and numerous trade stands for attendees to explore.

One of the most exciting features of the event was the introduction of a new twist: when battles came down to a "one more time" decision, they were settled in near-stock Lexus IS200s, adding an unexpected and highly entertaining element.

As the LZ World Tour continues to evolve, this stop in Mondello Park was a testament to its growing success and its ability to bring together the best drivers, cars, and fans for an unforgettable experience
