Lego Technic McLaren P1

Lando Norris was always a lego fan, at the tender age of three he found his love of creating with the world famous bricks. A beautiful memory playing building with his siblings, following his father’s love of model cars. Lego was a large influence on Lando’s passions. HIs favourite car is the McLaren Senna, made famous by the Brazilian F1 Legend, Aryton Senna. Imagine his face when he was presented with the Technic McLaren Senna GTR, instant favourite Lego set!

The Senna isn’t the only replica available, the McLaren P1 replica is exceptionally popular as well. What if there was a more out of the box version? How many bricks  would you need to build a real scale, working Technic McLaren P1? 342,817 Technic parts to be exact. A team of 23 engineers were involved in its development and construction, what an insane pit crew! Insane and dedicated as the entire process took 8337 hours to become a reality.

Although it might not be as fast as the real P1, this car is still capable of reaching a top speed of 65kmph. That was fast enough to complete a lap at the 3.3km long Silverstone track. Who else could be the driver to test lap this magnificent piece? Lando Norris of course. This big kid lived a few dreams out at that moment. Getting to pilot the first ever fully driveable Lego P1 is another accolade to add to Norris’s rep sheet.
