Cruz Ireland Dingle Run 2024 @cruz.irl
The coastal town of Dingle was in for a real surprise on Sunday 7th of July. Not only was the sunshine out, a group of car enthusiasts had brought their best motors back west for a little Sunday drive. Cruz Ireland held its second annual Dingle run and gave the car community an unbelievable experience on the day. Cars from all over Ireland started off in Tralee, the route of the day was the beautiful Kerry coastline. As if engineered by mother nature herself, the group was blessed with a fabled summer’s day. It was a perfect day for a drive.
A convoy of 80+ show cars set off on a journey that will be spoken about for years to come, heading west towards Dingle. The symphony of engines and the sunshine bouncing off the polished motors was a beautiful sight to be seen. Not as beautiful as the destination of the run, for anyone not familiar with the location, the Conor Pass in Dingle is one of the most breathtaking backdrops in the country. Where the sea meets the mountain, and a dolphin is man's best friend.
After the group made a quick fuel stop and gained many admiring looks from locals as they refueled, it was time to hit the spot to park up. On top of a mountain, the group lined up and parked. The sea glistened in the background, the sun was splitting the stones and the ice cream man who was already parked at the spot knew he was going to clean up shop! The group admired each others builds and discussed all things motorised over 99’s. After the legs were stretched and the sunburn set in, the group set off once more, it was time to come home.
The Cruz run is a testament to Ireland’s rich car culture at its best. Many participants came from all around Ireland to take part in the run. The group was dominated by JDM cars, a particular niche of motor that has influenced the automotive culture in Ireland in so many ways. The sense of community was strong and the love of cars is far reaching. We can’t wait to see the third annual Dingle run!
