IDC Round 4

The fourth round of the Irish Drift Championship was held for the first time ever in Bishopscourt Diff & Drift, tucked away on the outskirts of Downpatrick.

The sun was high, the tyres were hot, the engines were roaring and the drivers were soaring. This penultimate round of the IDC brought action, drama, crashes and challenges. The tight turns of the BDD were unforgiving for some.

Pro2 Qualifying went swimmingly, with the drivers getting used to the tight track. Practice was another story as the wall run claimed many a rear bumper.

The podiums of Pro2, Pro2r and Pro2j were hard fought but taking his first podium of the season, in the Pro2 Rookie Catagory we had Rico Drift, in 2nd place David Forde and in 3rd place we had the man of the weekend Daniel Devine

Daniel Also took first place of the overall Pro2 catagory this weekend, followed by Ben Rogers in 2nd, Jack Caldwell in 3rd and an battle worn Erikas Navickas taking that 4th position

With the juniors then we had Alex Butler in 1st - Continuing his amazing seaosn, Jake Mcliveen in 2nd and Jack Caldwell in 3rd

The Pro2 Day was action packed, with over 70 teams battling it out. It was surely some of the toughest fights the entry classes had to face

On to Pro Day where the veterens of drift fought it out, 135+km/h entries, head on collisons in practice, some slightly realligned axels and even a small combustion - Outside of the engine block. The Pro Day at BDD was absolutely insane!

Local man Kevin Quinn took the top spot after a tough rematch against Alan Hynes who secured 2nd place and possibly his championship title.

The man of the weekend goes to none other than the only man this season to take 3 podiums in a weekend. Young Daniel Devine in his yellow 180. Daniel had support that weekend that could be heard above the roaring engines and screaching tyres. His mother left with a trophy winning son, but without her voicebox intact.

Can Daniel keep this up for the Final? Will we see another Alan V Alan on Pro Day? Will Eddie and Mike ever run out of jokes?

We find out at the exciting final rounds of the 2024 season of the Irish Drift Championship in 360 Motorsports Park Kilflynn

Pro 2 Final is being held on the 7th and 8th of December while Pro is being held as a Night Fight 2 weeks later

Will you be there?
